Earlier this month I posted the official video for "Bloodbuzz Ohio" and a live version of "Lemonworld", if that helps as reference points. I cannot say enough good things about that album, which has a dark vibe similar to Tindersticks, among other things.
I really thought you were talking about a radio show or something, but then I'm and old fuddy-duddy who hasn't listen to anything new since the Fab Four broke up. Though this weekend I saw a great show by Michael Franti. His show at the Calgary Folk Festival was the most fun I've had in the last year, maybe longer.
Apparently The National's website name is a reference to an early song and they never thought they'd be successful enough to change it.
Not familiar with Franti, but the stuff on his website sounds pretty neat. Glad it was a good show!
