There. Is. A. God. (And He made this painting.)

Thank you, CarolElaine, for bringing to my attention the most awesome thing I have ever seen or will ever see in my whole entire life:

I can die now. It's okay, children. I've seen what I came to see, and now I am complete.

UPDATE: Per the artist's generalized request to the online universe, the creator of this painting is Andrew Zubko. Per the title of this post, it thereby follows that Mr. Zubko is God. Seriously, though--Mr. Zubko, I bow in your general direction, wherever you are, and if you want me to build a small shrine in my condo to leave burnt offerings or pieces of fresh fruit, just let me know. (I'm hoping you're not one of those vengeful gods who needs living sacrifices, but, y'know, I'll do what I have to, O Great One.)

H/T again to CarolElaine, who pointed this out in the comments below, along with the piece's backstory!

OK, you guys are a little weird.

Not a lot of "Getting Laid" going on here, huh?!

Batman. Fighting a shark. With a lightsaber.

What's sex compared to that?

That is pretty good, but a wee bit "linear" for me.

Check out this dolphin astronaut. Riding a fire-breathing hippo. Past howling wolf puppies.

Did I lie? Art doesn't need permission, or make excuses.

Okay, Jeff--that is pretty fucking amazing. You know what would make it better, though?

Batman. Fighting a shark. With a lightsaber.

And that's not just any lightsaber, that's Darth Vader's lightsaber.
Jeff Hentosz said…
Well ... when you put it that way ...
Eric said…
And you just know that Darth Vader didn't give up that lightsaber easily. Batman had to kick his ass for it. Which he could totally do. Because he's the goddamn Batman.

You can see it in the shark's eyes: "Where is Aquaman when you need him"?

Anyone notice Batman mounting the shark from behind?

There's a big problem with the superhero community, because Superman doesn't take "no" for an answer.

BTW, the artist is Andrew Zubko. According to Mike Reed (on whose Facebook page I first saw the link, Zubko "painted it four years ago for the three-year-old son of a friend who challenged the artist to combine her son's three favorite things."

Hence the beauty you see before you now.

That also proves this eternal truth: that three year olds are awesome.

Thank you for the update, CE!
Other people's three years olds are awesome.

Trust me on this. :D
