Great balls of fire

You may have seen this already--but it's still awesome in both the "Dude!" sense and the classical sense of "inspiring wonder." From the dashboard camera of an Edmonton, Canada, police cruiser, we see a good-sized meteor zip through the clouds in the early evening hours of November 20th of this year:

I did see that, but it's pretty cool no matter how many times you see it.

Dude!

I had not seen that. That's an incredible catch.

Dude! That totally rocks.

Are you sure it wasn't a UFO? ;) Seriously, I hadn't seen it, thanks for posting.

How goes the writing?

Dude! No way! That's totally gnarly! Like, way tubular!

(Sorry, actual Valley girl here. Went to high school in the 80s in the San Fernando Valley, spent some time at the Galleria and everything.)

Space? Is amazingly bitchin'. Thanks for the vid, dude.

Jeri, the writing goes... um... yeah.

I'm ahead of where I expected to be and behind where I ought to be. A completely doable number of words if I can just get them onto the bleedin' page.

I'm happy I was able to share this clip with everyone. It really is pretty spectacular.

Wowie -- I hadn't seen it, although I had heard a news snippet. Nifty.

GAH! What is WRONG with you people? Dude? Dude? Dude?

STOP! Make it STOP! I HATE the word dude!

ACK!

Meteors are NOT dudes! They might even be female! And although Eric qualifies as a dude in that he's male, he's much nicer than a dude!

GRRR!!

*shakes fist*

Michelle ... d00dette... chill. :D

Nice meteor. I saw one like it once, during a leonids a decade back. I was all excited but the only other guy out there at the time was looking the wrong direction and missed it. :(

MWT,

That's like hitting a hole in one when you're by yourself...it didn't happen. :D

Sorry, Michelle--The Big Lebowski is one of my favorite movies of all time. A leading contender for all-time favorite, even.

The Dude abides. The Dude abides.
Michelle - I used to mix the word "dude" with Russian and Lithuanian when I lived there - there must be a couple of classes of "dude" using English students wandering around Lithuania, now.

Sveikas, dude. Laba diena. Kак дела?

Because, you know, "dude" was better than "Comrade".
