Yeah.

I always thought we needed one of those. Yep. Back when I read the Bible, the one thing I definitely thought was, "This needs more giant robots."

I associate manga with the pornographic versions of "Sailor Moon" I used to see dirty old men reading on the train to work.

I am happy for Castro's existence. My wife's family left Cuba in 71 because of him. Had they not done that, I wouldn't have met her and we wouldn't have the 2 beautiful children that we have. Selfish, huh?

I had a comic book version of the bible when I was growing up. I actually enjoyed reading it. No graphic representations, like in the Brick Testament and it was pretty pedestrian, no focus on action scenes, but I did enjoy reading it -- more as a story than a religious tome, obviously.

...and it did occur to me as I was reading the article that Bible comics are as old as... well... pretty darn old. Which is one of the reasons I tried to bite back on the snark.

What's weird about the concept of "Bible manga" is really the incongruity between the types of manga described by John The Scientist and the usual view of the Bible in our society. The truth is that there's plenty of artistic manga that doesn't involve underage girls or tentacle rape, and quite a lot of the Bible that does involve rape, incest and ultraviolence. The incongruity is based on stereotypes that aren't accurate at all.

I'll have to check out Brick Testament: that looks pretty amusing.
