Santogold, "The Guns Of Brooklyn"

There's something about this cover--The Clash's "Guns Of Brixton" brought over the pond--that's... something; meant in the best possible way. There's something about the grungy '60s quality of the sound that makes the cut somehow more Clash than The Clash. You can imagine Paul Simonon hearing it blasted out a tenement window in Brixton back when he was a kid and bobbing his head in approval.

I'm not sure I'll be around much today or tomorrow, tho' I'll try to pop up a video for Sunday. Have a good weekend and try not to trash up the place too much if I'm out, eh, kids? Neighbors have the number and there's snacks in the fridge.

Ha! I was shooting pretend guns in Brooklyn, listening to M.I.A. yesterday. I'll have to add this to the playlist.
