The best part of this June 1957 Mechanix Illustrated cover isn't the awesome/insane domed house (obviously, nobody at the magazine gave any thought to how much cooling this house would cost during the summer), but the "Special Section" advertised at the very top:

"Yes, gentlemen, customer surveys have confirmed that our entire subscription base consists of pasty nerds, fully three-quarters of whom wear square-rimmed glasses. They need a survival guide, and we can always run the 'Rocketry's Future Is Now' insert in July...."
